AISI: Import Market Share in U.S. at 23% in April May 1, 2013 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that steel import permit applications for the month of April total 2,576,000 tons. This was a 3% decrease from the 2,650,000 permit tons recorded in March but up by 4% from the March preliminary imports total of 2,476,000 tons.

February U.S. Steel Shipments Drop 9.4% M-o-M and 11.5% Y-o-Y Apr. 17, 2013 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that for the month of February 2013, U.S. steel mills shipped 7,436,388 tons, a 9.4% decrease from the 8,210,726 tons shipped in the previous month and a 11.5% decrease from the 8,407,343 tons shipped in February 2012.
