Personnel New Officers Elected During ISSF-16 in Beijing

The International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) elected new office bearers during the organization’s 16th Annual Conference (ISSF-16), which was recently held in Beijing, China.
 
Joon-Sik Kim, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of the Stainless Steel Business Division of Posco, has been elected Chairman of ISSF for a one-year term.
 
Bernardo Velázquez, Chief Executive Officer of Acerinox Group, and Philippe Darmayan, Chief Executive Officer of Aperam, have been elected as Vice Chairmen. Mika Seitovirta, President and CEO of Outokumpu, has been re-elected as ISSF Treasurer for the coming year.
 
During ISSF-16, the new Board also re-elected Pascal Payet-Gaspard as Secretary and Secretary General of ISSF until December 31, 2012. Payet-Gaspard has announced that he will retire at the end of 2012, and John Rowe has been elected as his successor.
 
Rowe will join ISSF from January 1, 2013. He is currently General Manager of Shanghai Krupp Stainless Co. Ltd., a position he has held since 2008. Rowe has a background in law, minerals, and marketing and has worked for a number of companies within the stainless steel industry during his career.
 
The Board of ISSF is elected for one year and comprises:

·         Philippe Darmayan, Aperam (Vice Chairman of ISSF)
·         Dingbo Lou, Baosteel Stainless Steel Co., Ltd.
·         David Martin, Columbus Stainless (Pty) Ltd.
·         Tadashi Shimao, Daido Steel Co., Ltd.
·         Hiroshi Ueda, JFE Steel Corp.
·         Ratan Jindal, Jindal Stainless Ltd.
·         Hiroshi Kinoshita, Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless Steel
·         Toshinori Miki, Nisshin Steel Co., Ltd.
·         Mika Seitovirta, Outokumpu (Treasurer of ISSF)
·         Joon-Sik Kim, Posco (Chairman of ISSF)
·         Benedikt Niemeyer, SCHMOLZ+BICKENBACH
·         Xiaobo Li, Taiyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Co. Ltd.

The International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) is a nonprofit research organization that serves as the world forum on various aspects of the international stainless steel industry. ISSF was founded in 1996. Company members are producers of stainless steel (integrated mills and rerollers). Affiliated Members are national or regional stainless steel industry associations. ISSF now comprises 72 company and affiliated members in 27 countries. Jointly they produced 75 to 80% of all stainless steel manufactured in 2009.
