Mar. 30, 2012 - Salzgitter Flachstahl awarded SMS Siemag a contract to supply a new converter vessel for Converter A in the Salzgitter steelmaking plant. It also ordered a new relining device with telescopic lifting system to make refractory lining jobs easier in the future.

Siemens to Supply Secondary Dedusting for Ruukki Steelworks in Finland
Mar. 28, 2012 - Siemens VAI Metals Technologies has received an order from Ruukki Metals Oy to supply and install equipment for a new secondary dedusting system in its converter steelworks in Raahe, Finland. The new system is scheduled to come into operation at the end of 2013.

Zhangjiagang Hongchang Orders Two Twin-Ladle Furnaces from Siemens
Mar. 16, 2012 - Zhangjiagang Hongchang Plate Co. Ltd. has awarded Siemens VAI Metals Technologies an order to supply two twin-ladle furnaces for its new converter steelworks in the city of Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu Province. Both secondary metallurgical facilities are scheduled for commissioning in spring 2013.

Siemens Delivers Secondary Dedusting System for Severstal Converter
Feb. 22, 2012 - Siemens VAI Metal Technologies received an order from OAO Severstal to install a secondary dedusting system in the converter steelmaking plant at the Cherepovets production site. The new secondary dedusting system is scheduled to go into operation in mid-2015.

Siemens Updates LD Converter at AHMSA's Monclova Works
Feb. 3, 2012 - Siemens VAI Metals Technologies received an order from Altos Hornos de Mexico, S.A.B. de C.V. (AHMSA) to modernize the LD converter in the Monclova steelworks in the Mexican state of Coahuila. The contract is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2013.

SAIL Inaugurates New Unit at Rourkela Steel Plant
Jan. 24, 2012 - Air Separation Unit-3 at Tonnage Oxygen Plant-II of SAIL's Rourkela Steel Plant has been inaugurated by Chairman C.S. Verma, who also inaugurated the High Top Pressure at Blast Furnace-III at the plant.
