Siemens to Provide Double-Strand Wire Rod Mill for Xuanhua
Jul. 29, 2010 - Xuanhua Iron & Steel (Group) Co., China, has contracted with Siemens VAI for the supply of a double-strand wire rod mill. Delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2011.

Siemens to Modernize Long-Product Rolling Mill for Posco
Jul. 27, 2010 - Siemens VAI Metals Technologies has received an order from Posco Specialty Steel Co. Ltd. to modernize the long-product rolling mill in its Changwon Works. The modernization is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2011.

Siemens VAI to Supply Rod Mill to Taihan Electric
Jun. 24, 2010 - Siemens VAI Metals Technologies has received an order from the Southwire Co. to supply a copper rod rolling mill and the associated coil handling system. The end customer is Taihan Electric Wire Co. Ltd. of Seoul, Korea. The new mill will be delivered by the end of 2010.

Evraz Launches Rail Mill Reconstruction at NTMK
Jun. 18, 2010 - Evraz Group has launched reconstruction of the rail mill at NTMK, its Russian steel plant in Nizhny Tagil, Urals. The project will expand the mill’s annual capacity to 550,000 tonnes.

ShanDong Fulun Orders High-Speed Wire Rod Mills from SMS Meer
Jun. 3, 2010 - ShanDong Fulun Iron & Steel Co. Ltd., of Laiwu City, China, has placed an order with SMS Meer for the supply of two high-speed wire rod mills, each achieving an annual capacity of 700,000 tonnes of wire rod.

Henan Jiyuan Orders Wire Rod Outlet from Siemens VAI
May 25, 2010 - The Henan Jiyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. has ordered a wire rod outlet from Siemens VAI Metals Technologies for its first imported rod mill that will produce higher-quality steel grade products for the company. The project is scheduled for completion by late 2011.

SMS Meer Supplies VCC Rolling Mill to Daehan Steel
May 10, 2010 - Daehan Steel of South Korea has placed an order with SMS Meer for the supply of a Vertical Compact Coiler rolling mill for compact coils. The mill, with an annual capacity of 450,000 tonnes, is scheduled to go into operation in April 2011.

AIC Completes Rolling Mill Revamping Project in Italy
May 7, 2010 - Complete revamping of the twin-strand rolling mill of ORI Martin Group in Ceprano was recently concluded. Automazioni Industriali Capitanio completed the work in two phases planned during standard plant stops in August and December.

SMS Meer, SMS Concast to Supply Steelworks Complex in Bahrain
May 6, 2010 - United Steel Co. placed an order with SMS Meer and SMS Concast for the design and supply of a turnkey minimill plant for beams and sections in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The project, to be carried out with Samsung Engineering, is scheduled for completion by 2012.
