voestalpine Erects New Production Facility for Ultra-High-Tensile Fine Wire
May 9, 2012 - voestalpine Austria Draht GmbH expands its activities in wire processing and acquires 54% of CPA Filament GmbH from the Steinklauber Group. At the Fürstenfeld site, a new production facility for ultra-high-tensile fine wire (up to 0.08 mm) will be erected within the scope of a joint venture.

Siemens to Supply Merchant Bar Mill to BMM Ispat in India
Apr. 30, 2012 - Siemens VAI Metals Technologies has received an order from BMM Ispat to supply a new merchant bar mill for its Hospet production location. Commissioning of this rolling mill with an annual capacity of 850,000 tonnes is scheduled for the end of 2013.

Voestalpine to Close TSTG Schienentechnik
Mar. 14, 2012 - The Management Board of voestalpine AG decided to end production at its Duisberg subsidiary, TSTG Schienentechnik GmbH & Co KG, due to the site’s inability to operate cost-effectively. Closure will occur at the end of 2012 at the earliest.
