AISI: Import Market Share in U.S. at 23% in April May 1, 2013 - The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that steel import permit applications for the month of April total 2,576,000 tons. This was a 3% decrease from the 2,650,000 permit tons recorded in March but up by 4% from the March preliminary imports total of 2,476,000 tons.

SEAISI: Apparent Steel Consumption in ASEAN Region Rose 7.6% in 2012 Apr. 9, 2013 - According to the South East Asia Iron & Steel Institute (SEASI), apparent steel consumption in the ASEAN region (Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam) is estimated to have surged by 7.6% y-o-y to 56.4 million tonnes in 2012.

U.S. Agency Will Remove Import Duties on HDG Flats from Germany and Korea Feb. 15, 2013 - The U.S. International Trade Commission determined that revoking the existing countervailing duty order on corrosion-resistant carbon steel flat products from Korea and the existing antidumping duty orders on this product from Germany and Korea would not be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time.
