Preliminary Steel Imports up 35% through First Half of 2010
Jul. 28, 2010 - The U.S. imported a total of 1,982,000 net tons of steel in June, down 14% vs. May final data according to the latest report from AISI.

Stainless Steel Imports Up 53% through April 2010
Jul. 26, 2010 - Total stainless steel imports reached 183,761 tons for YTD April 2010 a 52.8% increase compared to the comparable year-ago period according to the latest report from SSINA. Total specialty steel imports (comprising stainless steel, alloy tool steel and electrical steel) were up 37.8% through the same period.

June Steel Import Permits Decline 15% from May
Jul. 8, 2010 - Steel import permit applications reached a total of 1,955,000 net tons for the month of June, a 15% decrease from the 2,297,000 permit tons recorded in May according to the latest report from AISI.

First Quarter Stainless Steel Imports 44% Ahead of Q1-2009
Jul. 2, 2010 - Total stainless steel imports reached 131,894 tons for YTD March 2010, a 44.1% increase compared to YTD March 2009 according to the latest report from SSINA. Total specialty steel imports (comprising stainless steel, alloy tool steel and electrical steel) were up 23.8% through the same period.

Preliminary Steel Imports Rise 7% in May
Jun. 23, 2010 - The U.S. imported a total of 2,226,000 net tons of steel in May, up 7% vs. April final data and the 3rd consecutive monthly increase according to the latest report from AISI.

Steel Import Permits Increase 4% in May
Jun. 3, 2010 - Steel import permit applications totaled 2,148,000 net tons for the month of May, a 4% increase from the 2,060,000 permit tons recorded in April, according to the latest report from AISI.

SSINA Releases Market Data for February 2010
May 27, 2010 - Total stainless steel imports reached 83,832 tons for YTD February 2010, a 32.2% increase compared to YTD February 2009 according to the latest report from SSINA. Total specialty imports (comprising stainless steel, alloy tool steel and electrical steel) were up 14.2% through the same period.

Preliminary April Steel Imports Pass January 2009 Benchmark
May 26, 2010 - The U.S. imported a total of 2,072,000 net tons of steel in April, up 1% vs. March final data and the highest monthly total since January 2009 according to the latest report from AISI.

Steel Import Permits Drop 3% in April
May 7, 2010 - Steel import permit applications totaled 1,968,000 net tons for the month of April, a 3% decrease from the 2,027,000 permit tons recorded in March according to the latest report from AISI.
